John is the founder of the Firm and primarily devotes his practice to prosecuting complex civil litigation on behalf of plaintiffs. His practice areas include class actions, ERISA, FLSA, anti-trust, securities, consumer, warranty and product liability actions, and he has extensive experience in serving as Special Counsel to the Ohio State Attorney General and to state and political subdivisions.

John presently serves as special counsel representing the State of Ohio and served in that capacity against the Tobacco industry, which resulted in an unprecedented $9.86 billion settlement for a recovery of damages back to Ohio taxpayers in 1998. John was lead counsel on the In re Consolidated Mortgage Satisfaction Cases involving twenty separate class actions and resulting in a significant Ohio Supreme Court decision defining key aspects of Ohio class action law; and on Nunez v. J.L. Sims Company, a lead paint products liability action. John presently serves as lead or co-counsel in numerous multi-million dollar complex civil litigation cases or class actions, including the Exxon, Enzyte, GEAE, Nationwide and Nissan litigation and the Dalesandro and Sears ERISA cases.

John was selected as a 2006 and 2007 Ohio Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and by Cincinnati Magazine for his high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement - an honor received by only 5% of Ohio Attorneys; he is listed in the Cincinnati Business Courier's 2005 and 2006 Edition of Who's Who in Greater Cincinnati Law as being among the significant decision-makers of the region; and he has earned the highest Peer Review Rating of AV for professional excellence from Martindale-Hubbell in recognition of his high level of legal skills, ethical standards and integrity.

John has practiced in all levels of Ohio trial and appellate courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court and the Ohio Court of Claims, and in United States federal trial and appellate courts. John is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits, the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, and the Federal Claims Court. John is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and has been inducted as a Fellow at the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers.

John earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1987 from Miami University of Ohio, after which he served as a United States Marine Corps Officer on active duty from 1987-1991.  John attained the rank of Captain and is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. While with the Marine Corps, John was awarded the honors of Distinguished Graduate and Honor Graduate in formal officer training. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1994 from the University of Notre Dame College of Law.
