Russ's extensive experience includes performing industrial hygiene surveys and conducting comprehensive safety inspections and audits within battery production facilities, foundries, electroplating operations, glass manufacturing, welding operations, chemical and paint manufacturing, food and beverage service, stamping facilities, electronic component production, wire assembly, airport ground safety operations, electrical utilities, machining operations, partial delivery services, granite stone industry, sand and gravel operations, petroleum production facilities, steel manufacturing, and aircraft and engine manufacturing. Russ has conducted broad base industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring including noise measurement, air sampling for metals, solvents, particulates, aerosols, gases and other airborne contaminants, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation monitoring, illumination surveys, ventilation system measurement, mold sampling and heat and cold thermal stress measurement. He has managed both safety and ergonomic committees, performed ergonomic repetitive motion studies and managed worker's compensation programs while significantly reducing accidents and injuries resulting in lower worker's compensation claims and costs. He developed and implemented OSHA compliance programs including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, emergency response and evacuation, hearing conservation, ergonomics, laser safety, personal protective equipment and chemical hygiene in laboratories. Russ developed analytical laboratory skills while within the insurance industry and managed the reaccredidation process of an industrial hygiene laboratory. Russ's work in environmental compliance is also significant. He has conducted environmental audits for aircraft manufacturing, agricultural products industry, steel process operations, radiator manufacturing and general industry. Russ also developed environmental programs and procedures within the electronic manufacturing industry that addressed SAR Tier II and Form R submissions and hazardous waste reports. He has also developed criteria used to evaluate companies seeking environmental impairment liability insurance and directed a pollution unit that was responsible for inspecting and evaluating clients claiming pollution insurance coverage. Russ has serviced international clients throughout North America, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia. He also has provided EH&S on-site training internationally. His hazardous materials management experience has had a significant impact in training first responders to hazardous spills, cleanup and materials storage. Russ earned a Bachelor of Science in Watershed Hydrology from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Central Missouri. He is a full member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene. He is also a full member of the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management and the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers. |
